The Tender Pack add-on.

Add-on+R 999

If your project requires submitting a tender — typically a public-sector job, a CIDB-graded contract, or a B-BBEE-flagged opportunity — the standard safety file isn't enough on its own. The Tender Pack add-on covers what's usually asked for alongside the safety file:

  • CIDB grading guidance — what your grade means, what evidence to attach
  • B-BBEE affidavit pointers — which categories apply, what to file
  • SBD/MBD form completion guidance — the standard government bid documents

If you don't know whether you need it, you probably don't. Add it at quote time; remove it just as easily.

What the Compliance Rationale Report actually does.

Every Rapid file ships with a written rationale report. For each document in your file, the report explains why it's included and the section of legislation that requires it. So when an inspector or site agent asks “why is this in your file?”, the answer is there in writing — referencing the specific clause of the OHS Act, the Construction Regulations, or the trade-relevant statute that applies.

It's not an audit certificate. It doesn't replace inspections. It's the working document that connects what you submit to the law that asks for it. No other South African safety file vendor produces one — and the customers who use our file in front of difficult inspectors find it the most valuable thing in the package.

We describe it in words rather than showing a sample because the document is the differentiator. We'd rather the visible artefact stay with our customers than become a template every competitor reverse-engineers.

How we compare.

The South African safety file market has three rough price brackets, each serving a different need. Here's where Rapid sits, factually:

  • Rapid Safety Files

    R2,000

Full site-ready file + Compliance Rationale Report. 60 minutes. Reviewed before delivery.

  • WhatsApp-based file vendors

    R499–R1,500

Often a single document or a template pack. Limited site-specificity. No rationale report.

  • Document-pack resellers

    R500–R1,500

Generic template packs. Risk of rejection at the gate. No project-specific selection.

  • Traditional safety consultants

    R5,000–R20,000

Bespoke, often with on-site visits. Days to weeks. Right for some projects; over-spec for most subcontractor jobs.

Prices are publicly verifiable approximations as of May 2026. We don't pretend to be the cheapest — we price for what the work actually is.

Pricing questions.

Why is your price higher than R499 WhatsApp-bot safety files?
Different products. Those services typically deliver a single document or a template pack via WhatsApp. Rapid delivers a complete safety file (typically 70–110 documents) aligned to OHS Act 85 of 1993 and Construction Regulations 2014, selected against your specific project, reviewed before delivery, and accompanied by a Compliance Rationale Report citing the legislation behind every document. The rationale report alone is a defensibility tool no other South African safety file vendor produces.
Why is your price lower than the consultants quoting R5,000–R15,000?
Consultants run a different business model — they visit sites, do bespoke risk assessments, and bill by the hour. Rapid is a high-volume, fast-delivery service: we've built systems that produce a defensible safety file in 60 minutes. The output is comparable for most contractor needs; the speed and price aren't.
What's actually in the R2,000 file?
A complete site-specific safety file — the standard documents required under the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014: general documents and policies, legal appointments, procedures and SWMS, risk assessments, toolbox talks, inspections and registers. Documents are selected against your project from a library of regulation-derived templates, then reviewed before delivery. The exact document count varies by project — typically 70–110 documents — and every one is listed in the Compliance Rationale Report with its legal basis.
What's the Tender Pack add-on?
A separate +R999 add-on covering tender-specific documentation: CIDB grading guidance, B-BBEE affidavit pointers, and SBD/MBD form completion guidance for government tenders. Add it at quote time if your project requires tender submission. If you don't know whether you need it, you probably don't.
Are there any hidden fees? VAT? Delivery?
No. R2,000 is the total. VAT is included. Delivery is digital — a signed download link sent to your email. If you need a printed and bound copy posted to your site, that's a +R250 add-on you can request at delivery time. It's the only optional extra.
What if I need changes after delivery?
Minor edits — a corrected company name, additional staff, an updated start date — are free and turned around within 24 hours. If your project scope materially changes (new trades on site, a different site address, a different principal contractor) it's effectively a new file at the standard price. We'll tell you which case applies before charging.
What if my file fails inspection?
If a file we compiled fails inspection because of our error, we rework it free and refund 50% as goodwill. If it fails because the inspector identifies project-specific issues that weren't disclosed at intake, we'll work with you to add what's missing — at our cost if the original intake was reasonable, or as a paid update if material new information has emerged.

Customer voice on price and value

I needed a file for a Sandton high-rise job on a Friday afternoon. Paid at 14:00, file was in my inbox before 15:00. Site agent didn't blink on the Monday.
